We have just come back from a 3 day stay at the Roxborough for my birthday/anniversary. Allison was in contact with me from first thing in the morning before we set off right up until we arrived. The room was very spacious, clean and warm. We had a seaview room which was excellent. The views were stunning. The breakfasts were lovely and we got exactly what we asked for. Allison and Graham could not have been more helpful if they had tried. They were both very attentive. This hotel is in a perfect location to explore Berwick. Would very highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again but when the days are longer daylight so we have more daylight hours to explore. Lovely wee hotel, arrived late but met with the host after a quick call very friendly and knowledgeable about the area room was spot on, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Biscuits and filtered water kept cool in the fridge. Beds comfy stayed in the farne 3 single bed room as was meant to be travelling with friends for an event. Toilet area was a good size Shower was a bit of a pain either very hot or cool took a bit of messing to get it to a nice heat, shampoos and gels for washing. You can come and go as you please with keys for both doors which is good save any unwanted people coming in and out. Never had breakfast but looks like Everything you would need. carpark on site plenty space, could do with a reverse park policy would make it easier to manoeuvre when cars are parked adjacent to the wall and could avoid reverse onto the main road which is a bit blind due to housing parking and if any kids ran out hotel door. Hotel would be perfect for people needing the beach as right on the promenade and only a 20 min walk into town couple of local pubs near by and local shop, with allsorts of big chain stores a 10 min walk or 2 mins in the car. If I'm in the area again alone / friends as usually travel with my wife and 2 dogs unfortunately not dog friendly which in a way is good keeps it specific. Highly recommended
Such a lovely place to stay. A half hour walk from the centre of Berwick. Lovely rooms, super friendly owner full of tips about where to eat etc. Very peaceful at night and the beach is just across the road. Great breakfast too. Hope to go back!
What a fantastic place to stay!! The rooms are lovely and decked out to a very high standard. We had a room with a sea view which was just perfect. The breakfast was delicious. Alison, the host, was lovely and really made us feel welcome, as did the staff at breakfast. We shall definitely be returning. Thank you
Our room didn’t have an ocean view but it was clean, plenty of tea coffee kettle etc. we walked into town for dinner ( nothing near here) about 2kms each way. Our breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Alison is a generous accommodating hostess. The roomy bike shed if fully lockable.
We had a lovely weekend at the Roxburgh. Everything was brilliant. The host Allison made us feel at home and couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely and the breakfasts were delicious, and would certainly recommend the Guest House to everyone.
We had a lovely stay at the Roxburgh. We had a sea view room and couldn't fault it at all. The room was clean and well kept with a large shower. The surrounding area is lovely with a kids play area and a few bars. There's also a cafe at the back of the hotel that's open outside of f the hotel hours. We had a leisurely walk into Berwick which took us about 30 minutes. Breakfast was really nice with different options for your hunger levels and was all cooked fresh. Cereal and jams are help yourself and toast is brought as as you want it. Allison was a lovely host and very accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here and wished we were staying longer.
We were heading to a family surprise birthday party and could only stay one night so booked just a room as we were setting off home pretty early the next morning. We were met by Alison who was super friendly,explained everything to us and also told us if we did wish to have breakfast in the morning,as long as we let her know that evening it was fine. The room was overlooking the sea front and was spotlessly clean.Filtered water in the fridge along with milk tea and coffee etc. Absolute gem of a place with super comfy beds.What more can you ask? Would definitely stay there again.
